About
As a child, I always wondered why. I took apart toys and eventually race cars to understand why they worked. Being a naturally curious person, this fascinated me, but drove me and my curiosity. Later I would find that same why in places like TV crime dramas. Someone would always cross-reference different data to find the criminal. I wanted to do that. I wanted to find answers in that data especially when the answers weren’t so obvious. I wasn’t a cop nor on a TV crime drama…
Instead, I use data professionally to look for that why in finance, projects, systems, and applications. When I finally connected the dots, it was the data that was the common thread answering my why. That data has been guiding my decisions and direction; It became my foundation.
I found that I was able to find patterns in data where others only saw chaos. With increased daily use of data, my skills grew over time as did both my effectiveness and satisfaction. I expanded from Excel to SQL and eventually to Python and visualizations before seeking out additional training to polish those skills. Recently, I decided to not make data my primary focus and instead let it enhance my impact in the product space.
Outside of that, my personal time includes my rediscovered love for guitar and the challenge of music theory. When Pittsburgh weather permits, I love a random mountain biking adventure. And there’s always the need to feed my curiosity with learning something new.
